We’re thrilled to introduce ArtsNow intern Mary Kay.

Mary Kay Palazzo is a junior at Kent State University from Avon, Ohio. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Crafts with a concentration in Jewelry and Metals and a minor in Nonprofit Studies.

As an artist, she understands that keeping the public engaged with the arts is vital for growing a strong, vibrant community. This past summer, she taught metal-smithing at a summer camp, and enjoyed sharing her passion for art with children who otherwise may not have become familiar with a variety of art forms. That experience sparked an excitement for connecting the arts and the local community.

She is excited about having an opportunity to help make art more accessible to the public, and is looking forward to visiting sites of public art within Summit County.
