You may have seen her recent blogs on ArtsNow.org, and here’s a little more about the personal journey of our fantastic summer intern Erika Newcome:
Erika, a recent graduate of The University of Akron, specializes in strategic campaign planning and brand management. In 2018, she received a multidisciplinary B.A. studying both public relations and marketing.
The beginning of her career looked a little different from most. Her professional career began at the age of 13—behind the wheel of the racecar. Throughout her first years at The University of Akron, Erika raced full-time, attended classes full-time, while also working part-time jobs. Following an extremely rare cancer diagnosis in 2016, her racing career was put on hold, but her professional career flourished.
Since then, she has planned public relations and marketing campaigns for non-profits such as Paws and Prayers, Compass Coffee, and With Purpose. The recent graduate is excited to start a new chapter of her professional career with ArtsNow and Amp Strategy.
