Arts & Culture Patron: Montgomery-Schuellerman Family
Phil Montgomery and Andrew Schuellerman live in Highland Square with their two daughters, Adrionna and Brooklynn. As a family, they love trying new things and exploring all the arts and culture sector in Summit County has to offer.
“We believe in encouraging the girls to try new things,” said Andrew. “That’s how we found Summit Choral Society and it has been such a great experience for our entire family.”
In addition to Summit Choral Society’s children’s programs, Adrionna and Brooklynn have participated in Weathervane Playhouse’s summer program. As a family, they frequently visit the Akron Art Museum, Blossom Music Center, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the Akron Zoo.
“We love the national park, Towpath Trail, and Summit Metro Parks,” said Phil. “On any given weekend you will find us outside in nature or enjoying farmers markets and live music.”
The desire to serve the community is something the entire family shares and prioritizes. Both Phil and Andrew are very involved and serve on numerous boards and initiatives from the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition to the Akron Children’s Museum to CANAPI. Instilling a sense of community is important to the Montgomery-Schuellerman family – especially given Phil’s role as the Director of Finance and Budget for the County of Summit and County Executive Ilene Shapiro. “The Executive is a huge arts advocate and supporter, so serving on the ArtsNow board, the countywide local arts agency, made good sense personally and professionally,” said Phil.
Phil, Andrew, Brooklynn, and Adrionna encourage all Summit County residents to enjoy spring and get outside! You may just run into this fun and active family on the trails!
