AKRON, OH (June 1, 2023) — GAR Foundation recently awarded $1.44 million in grants to Akron nonprofit organizations

Foundation officials stated they focused support this quarter on a variety of important initiatives in the arts, most notably the work of ArtsNow. The Foundation awarded ArtsNow a grant of $125,000 towards operations, supporting the organization’s continued work connecting the arts, culture and community in Akron. ArtsNow recently announced the launch of ArtsForward, a regranting program made possible by a funder collaborative. The program will bring to life arts efforts that enact the 10 priorities of the Akron/Summit Cultural Plan.
