ArtsNow Launches Second Annual ArtsForward: A Program to Support and Implement Akron/Summit Cultural Plan

Akron, Ohio (April 1, 2024)- ArtsNow, the backbone arts and culture agency for Summit County, is thrilled to announce the launch of its second year of ArtsForward, a grant program dedicated to advancing and implementing the Akron/Summit Cultural Plan.

The ArtsForward application is open now through April 30, 2024, and will support nonprofit programs and projects from across Summit County that align with the Akron/Summit Cultural Plan’s ten key priorities.

“As we enter another year, the continued backing of ArtsForward is a testament to the dedication of our artists, staff, volunteers, and community members driving our Cultural Plan,” stated Nicole Mullet, Executive Director of ArtsNow. “Arts and culture are integral to a healthy and vibrant Summit County, and we’re thrilled to serve as stewards of these resources. Our team is so proud of last year’s nonprofit grant recipients’ achievements, and we can’t wait to see the projects and change-makers that emerge this year.”

In 2023, ArtsNow awarded nearly $450,000 to the nonprofit grant recipients of ArtsForward, funding 25 projects in Summit County.
