A new calendar at ArtsNow

Akron’s arts advocacy nonprofit ArtsNow, which already keeps folks up to date on performances and artistic events around town with its SummitLive365 website, unveiled a new calendar it said is “designed to enable more art in more places for more people.”

The group’s main website now includes a section called “ArtsNow Presents,” which it said is a special, curated calendar of 2022 art-based events.

The new calendar includes artist and organizational events for this spring and summer. There are also features from the organization’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Board for Arts and Culture, with a series focused on equity and inclusion curated with ArtsNow’s director of programming, Dara Harper.

The first event on the new calendar, set for May 5, will be presented by Molly Cairney, executive director of the statewide organization Art Possible Ohio, and will be about website accessibility.

“Did you know that your website needs to be as accessible as your brick-and-mortar building, your programming, and all the other aspects of the work that you do?” Cairney asks in a release. “We’re going to talk all about it at our upcoming webinar.”
