Arts & Culture Inclusion Council – Matt Reed
Mr. Reed has been with Direction Home Akron Canton for 20 years. In those years he has moved upwards with different opportunities in communications, planning, quality improvement, direct service delivery through the creation of the Caregiver Support Program, transitional care, screening, assessment, elder rights, and human resources.
His main areas of interest include organizational culture, employee development, non-Medicaid planning and program implementation (including arts programming) and age friendly/livable community initiatives. As the SVP – Communications and Administration he is responsible for “Community Engagement” which includes Communications, Training and Education, Livable Community planning and assistance (including housing and transportation), as well as our Aging and Disability Resource Center and its network.
He has an undergraduate degree in Business and Organizational Communication from The University of Akron, a Masters in Public Administration from Kent State University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Ohio University. Mr. Reed volunteers on the Board of Directors for Regina Health Center, a faith-based nursing facility and the ArtsNow Diversity Equity Inclusion and Access Advisory Committee.
