Arts & Culture Inclusion Council – Ivy Johnson

Ivy JT Johnson is a Northeast Ohio-based director, choreographer, performer, and emerging arts administrator who brings a creative-first mindset to everything she does. Since joining the Millennial Theatre Project in 2018, she has worked on over 20 productions, directing and choreographing shows like Heathers: The Musical, Sweeney Todd, and The Rocky Horror Show. Her choreography credits also include Carrie, Hair, Lizzie, The Little Mermaid, and Evil Dead: The Musical. As a performer, Ivy has taken on standout roles such as Bernadette (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), Frank N. Furter (The Rocky Horror Show), Bobby Strong (Urinetown), and Natalie (All Shook Up). She’s been on stage since childhood and remains deeply rooted in the artistic process.

Currently, Ivy is choosing to hone her skills on the administrative side of the arts, not stepping away from creativity, but building the foundation to support it better. She serves as Administrative Assistant and is a proud member of the Development Team at the Akron Civic Theatre, where she supports programming, development, and outreach. She is also the Producer’s Representative for both the Millennial Theatre Project and All-City Musical, and sits on ArtsNow’s Arts Inclusion and Culture Advisory Board, advocating for equity and access across the arts in Akron.
