AKRON, OH (Oct. 20, 2022) – Tickets are on sale for the second annual State of the Arts, hosted by ArtsNow, which will be held on Dec. 15, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Akron Civic Theatre.

Presented by the County of Summit, State of the Arts will feature a strolling cocktail hour with various artists and entertainment. After the cocktail hour, ArtsNow Executive Director, Nicole Mullet, will give a brief State of the Arts update and honor two advocates and champions for arts and culture in Summit County including Theresa Carter, receiving the Distinguished Patron award, and Gregg Mervis, receiving the ArtsNow Visionary Leader award.

“We are thrilled with the outpouring of community support and with the opportunity to share highlights from the sectors we serve– from initiatives and accomplishments over the year to insights on what opportunities await us in the future. We’re also looking forward to discussing the updates in the Cultural Plan and its role in attracting and retaining talent, driving economic investment, and ensuring residents of all ages and backgrounds are helping to co-create the future of arts in our community.”
