The new Akron Black Artist Guild will feature 16 area Black artists in its first exhibit, “Outlined in Black,” from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Crea8tive Gallery, 380 S. Main St., Akron.

The artists are Sasha Dixon, Jessica Travis, Randi Mull, Sylvia Sykes, Georgio Sabino, Shawn Gooden, Jeff Willis, Donald Peoples, Stephanie Stewart, Denise Harrison, Corey Bapes, Chris Harvey, Derin Fletcher, Talia Hodge, Jason Blakely and Sharetta Howze.

“We learned early in our first years at the Guild that the ability to hold space for Black artists to express themselves is vital to our work,” said Dominic Moore Dunson, co-founder of the Akron Black Artist Guild that launched in February.

Guests are asked to register for the free event at https://abagexhibition.eventbrite.com. All attendees, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask.
